At last we have some good news on the chaos surrounding the introduction of the new motorcycle test.
Following on from the meeting with Transport Minister, Jim Fitzpatrick, by various motorcycling representatives of the motorcycling industry on September 3rd the DSA have announced, with less than three weeks to go, that they will delay the introduction of the new motorcycle test until 30th March 2009.
The MCI’s Craig Carey-Clinch said, “This is the result we were hoping for. Having organised the dialogue with the minister last week, MCI is delighted that Mr Fitzpatrick and the DSA have responded quickly to our concerns about new test arrangements and especially to the road safety consequences of having so few test centres.”
This is a victory for common sense and for road safety and I understand that the DSA are going to work in cooperation with the DSA to ensure that everything runs smoothly for the launch in March.
