An ultra-short and significantly lighter silencer has been developed by Dutch exhaust specialists BOS for the 2008 Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR.

This new silencer measures just 250mm long and has a diameter of 100mm and weighs 40% lighter than the original at 4.2kg compared to the 7.2kg original.

Add to that the claimed extra power up to 167.9bhp from 165.9bhp and the fact it looks good too and it is a winning combination.

A special s-shaped adaptor had to be developed for performance and to fill the gap left by the original silencer. There is also a unique mounting bracket.

Two versions are available, in shot-blasted stainless (similar in appearance to titanium) at £369 or in carbon fibre for £449. Prices include VAT, adaptor pipe and fittings.
