Move over Bert Munro here comes Albert Wiggins!

· No Comments · Joolz says....

albert_wigginsOur own homegrown Bert Munro (Worlds Fastest Indian) is right under our noses in the shape of Albert Wiggins from Ruabon, Wrexham.

Albert, who is 80 years young, has recently spent 18 months rebuilding his 1957 Competition James bike so that he can compete in motorbike trials. He says he has always loved the freedom, the muck and the mud!

The bike is a replica of Albert’s first bike.

It is 50 years since he has been in the saddle after a love of bikes was borne out of pillion rides with despatch riders during the war, and it is believed he is the oldest trials rider in the UK.

Albert rejoined the Langollen Motorbike club and has been marshalling at club events and it won’t be long before he is competing himself.

First of all he is to be honoured with a certificate for his dedication to motorbike trials at the Motorbike Show in Llangollen on Saturday and Sunday, August 1-2.

Way to go Albert!
