A huge pat on the back to Maria Costello, motorcycle racer and first woman to be on the podium at both the Isle of Man TT and the Manx GP, who received her MBE from Prince Charles this week.

Due to the traffic congestion, and in true style, she had to swap from car to motorcycle en route so that she could arrive on time, taking advantage of a Virgin Bike Taxi. Maria had no time to change into her leathers and instead took the ride in her smart skirt outfit.

Nonetheless a great day for Maria and a great day for motorcycle racing, well done that girl!

On a side note doesn’t this prove that motorcycles are excellent for beating traffic congestion?
