Lois on the Loose Book Review

Have you ever sat at work longing for adventure? Yeah me too!

But Lois Pryce did what few of us do and decided to see if she could have that adventure.

Crossing the Americas from Alaska to the most southerly town in America – Ushuaia – turned out to be her journey of choice, on a Yamaha 250 Serow.

This kind of journey, where you are travelling into the unknown from the relative safety and comfort of western living, requires a certain amount of resilience and the ability to think on your feet no matter what is thrown at you. Lois is able to draw on her own I would say natural ability to do this in admirable style.

From hassle with Canadian cops, lengthy Central American border crossing officialdom through to being literally blown off her motorbike in South America, Lois certainly had the adventure she dreamt of and all with a good dollop of humour thrown in as she recounts the highs and lows of her journey.

Few men of my acquaintance would tackle such a journey solo let alone women so I certainly take my helmet off to her.

Whether you think this kind of journey is one you would like to repeat and have your own adventure or if you just like the escapism of reading about it, either way I am sure you will enjoy this book and I wholeheartedly recommend it.
