Superfit and agile Moto GP World Champion Valentino Rossi has had one of those stupid accidents that we all have from time to time in the apparent safety of our own home.

Except Valentino’s threatens his participation in the Malaysia test later this week.

Rossi is used to risk taking and moving his body accordingly to minimise that risk, however this skill obviosuly deserted him in an accident which apparently happened whilst he was pulling his curtains in his house when he tripped and fell on to a glass table, shows that he can be surprisingly clumsy too.

I imagine it is rather embarrassing for him, and the injuries sustained which were a cut to his ring finger on his left hand and the sole of his left foot which resulted in stitches means that the resulting pain could threaten the Malaysia test.

A Yamaha press statement said: “The injuries are not serious but it is not yet clear whether or not they will make him uncomfortable when riding this week.

“Nevertheless Rossi will fly out to Malaysia today as planned, where he will try to give 100% at the first test of the season, which starts on Thursday..”
