As predicted at last weekends’ Misano Moto GP and following testing on the Monday, Dani Pedrosa will ride on Bridgestone Tyres for the rest of the season. But surprisingly despite Dani insisting he had little say in the matter and that it was a deal engineered by Honda and Dorna, his team mate Nicky Haydon will remain on Michelin tyres.

There was speculation that Pedrosa had threatened to boycott the last five rounds if he was forced to ride on Michelins unless the company released him to ride on Bridgestones.

Earlier in the season Dani Pedrosa was leading the championship after eight podiums out of nine races and he seemed quite happy on the Michelin tyres then, so why the change of heart? Especially as he is unlikely to be a championship threat at this stage in the game, why not stay on Michelins and then move to Bridgestones next season along with everyone else?

Well now he has to back it up with better results so we will have to see after all the moaning whether he is any better on Bridgestones than he was on Michelins, interesting stuff.
