Church End Brewery Classic Bike Show

Triumph_500If you enjoy real ale at all you will no doubt be aware of the emergence of micro breweries popping up all over the country specialising in their own brewed ales. Quite often your exposure to these ales will be down at your local enlightened public house or at a beer festival.

We are hardly what you would call conoisseurs of real ale preferring as we do that popular Irish stout. However me mate Doh and her fella are regular patrons at the Church End Brewery near Nuneaton and thought we might fancy a summery ride out to their Classic Bike show.

We did.

So we rode over on Boris and were surprised both by the number of bikes in attendance as well as the quality of the machinery on display which included several restored Japanese two strokes, a Vincent, a Wassell Bantam trial style bike, a Goldie and several Harleys as is the de rigeur these days including a Sportster with an ever so cute dog in a carrier on the back.

We partook of the Goats Milk, though not to excess obviously, and were pleasantly surprised by it and shows the appeal of the beers being produced by these breweries.

The owners of the Church End Brewery also impressed us with their friendliness and how genuinely interested they were in the bikes. If they plan to run the bike show on a regular basis then a bit more organisation wouldn’t go amiss as there were no awards or any indication that this was anything other than a ride-in which is a shame because it has the making of a good annual event.

The brewery stands on quite a bit of its own land and there would certainly be room for camping and possibly an acoustic band so as not to upset the neighbours.

Anyway a good day out despite a little bit of a drenching on the way home and you can see the photos below.
