A Third Wheel – The Eccentric Alternative – A Guide To Sidecars amd Trikes by Simon Potter
I much prefer to read motorcycle travel stories than trawl through facts about a particular marque or indeed, as in this case, information about sidecars and trikes.
However, this book landed on my desk, probably due to my interest [...]

Running With The Moon – A Motorcycle Book Review
February 23rd, 2010 · No Comments · Motorcycle Book Reviews
A Boys Own Adventure riding a motorbike through Africa – so says the byline.
When Jonny Bealby set out on his African Odyssey by motorcycle he was already an experienced motorcycle traveller. I tell you that because he was not someone looking for their first real motorcycle adventure but rather an ordinary chap who [...]

Quentin Tarantino’s Hell Ride Review
January 11th, 2010 · No Comments · Motorbike Films
I’ve read that in producing this film Quentin Tarantino was using the Seventies biker film genre as his inspiration and in that respect he succeeded in making a reproduction of how truly awful those films were.
If you believe that at very biker bar there are half-naked and completely naked women cavorting around in mud and [...]
The Hunt For Puerto Del Faglioli by Paddy Tyson – Book Review
January 6th, 2010 · 4 Comments · Motorcycle Book Reviews
So, where’s that then? Is the thought that immediately springs to mind, especially if like me you have read a few motorcycle travel books and like to think you have a reasonable geographical knowledge.
But Puerto Del Faglioli? never heard of it? Read on…..
Paddy Tyson is one of a slowly growing group of what are termed [...]

Overland To India Book Review
December 7th, 2009 · No Comments · Motorcycle Book Reviews
Second only to my love affair with Ural Motorcycles and Sidecars is the one that has been going on since the early 1990s with Enfield Bullets.
Way back then, in the mists of time, there was a programme on TV about how Enfield Bullets were still being made in India and had just started being imported [...]

Norton Motorcycles Reborn
December 4th, 2009 · No Comments · Motorcycle Reviews
The motorcycle that impressed us most at the NEC Motorcycle Show was the new Norton Cafe Racer.
From a purely girlie perspective the yellow colour is fantastic and out of the colours likely to be available – black, silver, red and yellow – it is definitely the one I would choose, simply stunning.
You can see my [...]

Media Test Day – A Grand Day Out
August 17th, 2009 · No Comments · Motorcycle Reviews
Earlier on this year we had the opportunity to test ride some bikes at the MCIA organised Media Day. So on a relatively cold, slightly wet and windy April day we arrived at an Aerodrome in Bedfordshire and spent a very enjoyable few hours indeed trying out one or two of the assembled motorcycles.
Now, [...]

Moto Guzzi Stelvio Review
August 14th, 2009 · 1 Comment · Motorcycle Reviews
I wasn’t sure I would like this bike, I guess I didn’t want to like it because Guzzi have a little bit of a bad reputation in biking circles because of the various factory changes and lack of spares availability at dealers.
This isn’t just heresay by the way, one of our good [...]

BMW R1200GS (2009) Review
August 9th, 2009 · No Comments · Motorcycle Reviews
We almost didn’t take this bike out for a test ride because we didn’t want to like it!
Why?
Well call it the Ewan and Charley factor.
Ever since their globe trotting adventures the world and his wife have got one of these bikes, including well known world travellers Kevin and Julia Saunders [...]
