In response to readers concerns about heavy handed policing of motorcyclists in Wales, Motorcycle News recently organised their Reclaim North Wales campaign, which was extremely successful with over 10,000 motorcyclists in attendance.

With further demonstrations planned in other areas of the country, where the police are over-zealous in their targetting of motorcyclists for shameful flouting of the law such as undersized numberplates and loud exhaust pipes, there was a letter from a reader in the 7th October edition which I feel needs further widespread consideration.

It amused me immensely but also made me consider carrying out the suggestion. This fact alone also saddens me because, has it come to this?

What am I on about?

Well the letter suggested that when the next census comes around – in less than two years time apparently – that everyone who cares about being able to ride their motorcycle freely in this country in the future should declare their religion as ‘biker’.

Why?

Well because firstly this will make Biker a documented faith and secondly religious persecution is prevented in the UK by law. (Like it)

This effectively means that the letter of the law has to be followed properly rather than the random stop and check procedure that seems to be happening in certain areas of the country at present.
